On the first night of the Midnight Sun season, Ruka becomes a place where northern nature, music and atmosphere come together beneath the endless light of the Arctic summer. When the sun no longer dips below the horizon, the fell landscape is filled with a soft golden glow and a feeling that is almost impossible to describe — it simply has to be experienced.
During the night between Friday and Saturday, 5–6 June 2026, we invite you to celebrate the arrival of the Nightless Night on the summit of Ruka Fell. For years, Rukapalvelu has welcomed the beginning of the Midnight Sun season together with its guests by gathering on the fell to pause for a moment and enjoy the magic of the northern summer night.
The evening begins at Restaurant Zone, where we gather shortly before midnight before heading up to the summit of Ruka Fell. In the middle of the night, guests will enjoy live music, stunning scenery and the unforgettable atmosphere of the Arctic summer. The smooth serenades of a saxophonist and the nostalgic melodies of an accordion player will echo across the open fell landscape while the sun lingers above the horizon without setting.
Ruka Fell offers one of the most spectacular settings in Finland for experiencing the Nightless Night. From the summit, vast views open across forests, lakes and northern wilderness. During the Midnight Sun season, nature carries a unique sense of peace — the air feels fresh and bright, birds continue singing through the night and time seems to slow down for a while.
We will spend approximately 00:30–01:30 on the summit, enjoying light refreshments, music and the opportunity to capture unforgettable photographs in the glow of the midnight light. After the experience, we return together to Restaurant Zone to continue the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
