For all activities we provide:
– Thermal winter suit

– Gloves
Please wear your own base layers (outdoor-friendly or woolen) under the winter suit.
Winter clothing is collected from the Safarihouse reception and should be worn when you arrive for your excursions.

Snowmobile Safari
Enjoy a thrilling snowmobile ride over the varied terrain of Kuusamo with your whole family! This safari is suitable also for beginners.
The safari begins with transportation to our wilderness camp in the middle of the forest.
After a short introduction to the basic snowmobiling skills with our experienced guide, you will set off on an exciting one-hour ride.

Northern Lights Hunting Trip
To witness the aurora borealis in all its glory, the perfect spot must possess several key qualities: complete darkness without stray light, elevated terrain atop an open hill, and unobstructed views of the northern sky. We know the perfect place. We take you to our wilderness camp Daza, where all these conditions meet. Here, you can marvel at this magnificent natural phenomenon without obstruction.
Warm soup and traditional campfire coffee will be served by the fire.

Snowshoe Hike at Oulanka National Park
An unforgettable winter hike through the enchanting snowy forests of Oulanka National Park.
Our guide will lead you along the scenic Kitka River, where you’ll view the wild Aallokkokoski Rapids and visit the picturesque Myllykoski, one of the most photographed spots in Kuusamo. Admire the majestic, snow-laden trees that create a winter wonderland like no other.
We will end our journey with a cozy gathering around an open fire, where you can enjoy delicious grilled sausages, fresh sandwiches, and traditional campfire coffee.

Husky Safari
A comfortable car transfer takes you to the husky farm, nestled in peaceful nature away from the village bustle.
Upon arrival, your guide will warmly welcome you and provide a clear safety and driving briefing to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Then it’s time to meet your eager husky team and set off into the white silence—your sled gliding smoothly through the beautiful winter forest.
Midway through the 45-minute ride (two people per sled), there will be a short break, giving you the chance to swap drivers if you wish.
After the safari, spend a moment getting to know the friendly huskies, take photos, and enjoy a few cuddles before returning to our cozy Safarihouse café. There, a warm drink—coffee, tea, or berry juice—awaits you, and you can browse our small souvenir shop featuring local handicrafts and husky-themed gifts.
Includes: Safety and driving instructions, winter clothing, 2–2.5-hour program including the 45-minute sled ride, time with the huskies, a warm drink, informative stories about each husky and responsible husky keeping, and liability insurance.
Note: Ride times are approximate, as duration depends on weather conditions and the number of sleds. We reserve the right to adjust the program for safety reasons.
River Floating
River floating is an amazingly relaxing experience. Let go and leave behind the worries of everyday life.
This adventure starts at our Safarihouse at the centre of Ruka Village. After getting a floating suit, a life jacket and a helmet our guide takes you to the river. After the safety instructions we go into the inviting stream of clear water.
You get to float twice for a duration of 15 minutes in the slowly drifting river. Warm drinks are served after the floating.

Ice Fishing Trip
Just a short drive from our Safarihouse, and we’ll arrive at a charming lake favored by the locals. Under the guidance of our expert guide, you’ll discover the secrets of ice fishing and learn how to create your own ice fishing hole. Warm beverages will be served as you fish and enjoy the serene winter landscape. A perfect chance to experience authentic winter fishing!

Forest Spa Sauna Experience & Dinner
Enjoy a relaxing Finnish sauna experience at our Forest Spa followed by a delicious three-course dinner at mystical Pohjanseita Wilderness Restaurant.
The evening starts in the three different saunas of the Forest Spa: a normal wood heated sauna, a smoke sauna and a steam sauna. You can also cool off in the outdoor pool.
After the sauna, a delicious dinner made from local ingredients is served.

- On certain days, lunch is included in your activity, in which case it will be enjoyed during the excursion.
